KARD nos platica sobre su visita a México, su nueva canción y un posible álbum en español

El pasado 8 de julio, KARD llegó al Auditorio BB con su Tour Mundial «Playground». Durante su estadía en el país, Kland México tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a este talentoso grupo.

KARD es un grupo mixto conformado por BM, J.Seph, Somin y Jiwoo. La agrupación de origen surcoreano fue creada por DSP Media en el año 2016.

El nombre «KARD» es un acrónimo de King, Ace, JokeR y HiDden, las cartas en una baraja, refiriéndose a que los cuatro integrantes forman un grupo perfecto.

KARD es conocido por incorporar sonidos latinos y letras en español en sus canciones.
El grupo siempre ha tenido presente a su público extranjero, y han incluido países de Latinoamérica en sus itinerarios desde la primera gira.

Aquí te dejamos la entrevista.

1. De vuelta en México, ¿qué es lo que les gusta de dar conciertos en nuestro país?

J.SEPH: Creo que las palabras que describen a México son pasión y energía. ¡Cuando
damos conciertos en México, la energía que recibo de la audiencia es mayor que la energía
que pongo para dar el concierto!
JIWOO: Muchas gracias por recibirnos bien cada vez que venimos. Mi corazón se acelera
cada vez que nos reciben y nos echan gritos en voz alta.

1. Back in Mexico, what do you like about playing concerts in our country?

J.SEPH: I think the words that describe Mexico are passion and energy. When we play
concerts in Mexico, the energy I receive from the audience is bigger than the energy I put into playing the concert!
JIWOO: Thank you so much for welcoming us well every time we come. My heart races
every time they welcome us and cheer us out loud.

2. Vinieron a Latinoamérica después de debutar, ¿por qué eligieron visitar países
hispanohablantes para sus primeros tours?

BM: Comenzar nuestra gira en Centro y Sudamérica establece un estándar de energía tan alto, porque nuestros fans aquí en México son tan enérgicos. Nos miman con tanta energía y amor, y eso aumenta nuestra energía para el resto de la gira también.
SOMIN: El empezar nuestra gira en LATAM ya es algo muy natural. Siempre nos recibieron calurosamente, e incluso en este primer concierto como comienzo de gira, los fans nos cargaron con mucha energía. ¡Haremos nuestro mejor esfuerzo por el resto de conciertos con la energía que los fans mexicanos han recargado!

2. After your debut you came to Latin America, why did you choose Spanish-speaking countries for your first tours?

BM: Starting our tour in mid/South America sets the standard for energy so high because our fans here in Mexico are so energetic. They spoil us with so much energy and love and it boosts our energy for the rest of the tour as well.
SOMIN: Starting our tour in LATAM is just so natural. They always gave us a warm welcome, and even in the first concert, the fans boosted us with so much energy. We’ll do our best during the rest of the concerts using the energy that Mexican fans have recharged!

3. Su regreso con Icky muestra a un KARD más maduro, con personalidad. ¿Cómo piensan que han cambiado musicalmente desde su debut hasta Icky?

BM: Hay demasiado. La forma en la que usamos nuestras voces y tratamos de encontrar diferentes texturas para ofrecer durante las grabaciones. En cuanto al rendimiento, la forma en que retribuimos la energía con los fans y la comunicación también. Las cosas son mucho más naturales ahora.

3. Your return with Icky shows a more mature KARD, with personality. How do you think you have changed musically since your debut now with Icky?

BM: There’s been so much. The way we utilize our voices and try to find different textures to cater to the records. Performance wise, the way we reciprocate energy with fans and the communication as well. Things are much more natural now.

4. Podrían decirnos tres canciones de su banda que recomienden a la gente que escuchen.

BM: ‘CAKE’ – ¡Es una nueva era del sexy KARD!
‘BOMB BOMB’ – Si necesitan mucha energía, esta canción es para ustedes.
‘Hold on’ – Es una de nuestras canciones que toca el corazón.
J.SEPH: ‘Oh NaNa’, ‘DON’T RECALL’, ‘RUMOR’. Me gustaría recomendar tres canciones del
álbum pre-debut. Creo que es la esencia fresca de KARD y, al mismo tiempo, estas son las canciones más fundamentales.

4. Could you tell us three songs from your band that you recommend people listen to.

BM: ‘CAKE’ – It’s a new era of a sexy KARD!
‘BOMB BOMB’ – If you need high energy, this is the song for you.
‘Hold on’ – It’s one of our records that really touch hearts.
J.SEPH: ‘Oh NaNa’, ‘DON’T RECALL’, ‘RUMOR’. I would like to recommend three songs from
the pre debut album. I believe that is the fresh essence of KARD and, at the same time,
those are the most fundamental songs.

5. ¿Tienen canciones en español que les gusten?

SOMIN: ¡Yo amo a Becky G! ¡Es una de mis artistas favoritas! No puedo escoger solo una canción porque todas sus canciones son únicas y tienen su estilo encantador.
JIWOO: Safari de J Balvin. ¡Es una canción que escucho mucho!

5. Do you have any Spanish songs that you like?

SOMIN: I love Becky G! She’s one of my favorite artists! I can’t choose just one song because all of them are unique and have their charming style.
JIWOO: Safari by J Balvin. Is a song that I listen to a lot!

6. ¿Cómo definirían a los fans mexicanos?

BM: Amor. Un gran amor. Tengo mucho aprecio por la consistencia de ese amor.
SOMIN: ¡Mejores amigos! ¡Claro que todos los fans alrededor de todo el mundo son mejores amigos para mí! En las malas y en las buenas siempre están conmigo y aunque sea de lejos, recibimos su apoyo y ánimos, eso me da mucha fuerza. Los amo, muchas gracias.

6. How would you define your Mexican fans?

BM: Love. Big love. I have so much appreciation for the consistency of that love.
SOMIN: Bestie! Obviously all of the fans around the world are Besties for me! Through thick and thin they are always with me and even from afar, we receive their support and encouragement, that gives me a lot of strength. I love you, thank you very much.

7. ¿Tienen alguna palabra favorita en español?

J.SEPH: ¡Te amo!
JIWOO: ¡Yo te quiero así, dímelo!

J.SEPH: ¡Te amo!

8. ¿Les gustaría lanzar un álbum solo en español? O es un idioma muy difícil para ustedes?

SOMIN: ¡Siempre que haya oportunidad estamos dispuestos! Al principio pensé que era difícil de pronunciar, pero es un idioma muy atractivo y bonito. Estudié español sola, pero había algunas partes que eran un poco difíciles de hacer sola. Pero cuando se trata de música, es muy divertido y es un lenguaje que te hace querer seguir intentándolo.
JIWOO: Es cierto que es un poco difícil pero si hay oportunidad será un proceso muy
divertido.

8. Would you like to make an album in Spanish only? Or is the language too difficult for you?

SOMIN: Whenever there is an opportunity we are ready! At first I thought it was difficult to pronounce, but it is a very attractive and beautiful language. I studied Spanish by myself, but there were some parts that were a bit difficult to do alone. But when it comes to music, it’s really fun and it’s a language that makes you want to keep trying.
JIWOO: It’s true that it is a little difficult but if there’s a chance, it willl be a really funny process.

9. ¿Quién de KARD creen que hable mejor español?

J.SEPH, JIWOO: ¡Sin duda BM!
BM: ¡Somin y J.Seph están definitivamente en el top 2!
SOMIN: ¡Quiero decir que yo soy la mejor! (Risas) En realidad el que mejor maneja el español es BM, pero en cuestión de pronunciación no me quedo atrás. Cuando hicimos covers de canciones en español, los fans dijeron que mi pronunciación estaba muy bien. Por eso yo quiero pensar así. (Risas)

9. Which of you think speaks KARD Spanish better?

J.SEPH, JIWOO: Definitely BM!
BM: Somin and J.Seph are definitely the top 2!
SOMIN: I wanna say that I’m the best! (laughs) Actually, the one who handles Spanish the best is BM. But in a matter of pronunciation I am not far behind. When we covered songs in spanish, the fans said that my pronunciation was very good. That’s why I want to think like that. (laughs)

10. Podrían darnos un mensaje para los seguidores de KLand Mexico y para sus fans en Latinoamérica.

SOMIN: ¡Aprecio y amo sinceramente a los fanáticos que siempre nos envían un gran amor! Continuaremos trabajando duro para convertirnos en artistas del que puedan estar orgullosos, así que por favor, quédense siempre con nosotros. Te amo. Muchas gracias. Qué bonitas.
